Who Can Register?
- People, who live, work, go to school in Milton, or reside in Halton Hills, Oakville, or Burlington are eligible for a free Milton Public Library card.
- Residents of Halton Hills, Oakville, or Burlington must present their library card from their municipality’s library, in addition to name and address identification, in order to receive a free Milton Library Card.
- Wellington County Library members (not Guelph Public Library) are able to apply for a free Milton Public Library card upon presentation of their Wellington County Library card and personal identification.
- Hamilton Public Library members may apply for a free Milton Public Library card, with limited borrowing privileges
Reciprocal Borrowing Agreements
- As per reciprocal borrowing agreements, Milton Public Library recognizes and accepts library cards from all Halton Public Libraries (Halton Hills, Oakville, and Burlington), as well as, from Hamilton Public Library and Wellington County Library
- Residents of Halton Hills (Acton, Georgetown, and rural areas), Oakville, Burlington, or Wellington County must present their library card from their municipality’s library, in addition to the name and address identification, in order to receive a free Milton Library Card
- Hamilton residents must present their Hamilton Public Library card and address identification to receive a library card. Our borrowing agreement limits these cards to eight items and two holds

You must provide proof of Milton's residence at one of our branches.

Individuals who do not live, work, or go to school in Milton and who are not members of libraries in which Milton Public Library has reciprocal borrowing agreements with will be charged an annual fee of $50.00 upon registration.
