Spring into the Library
Spring is in the air, and we have prepared fun in-person and virtual programs for children and families to enjoy.

This is a
STEAM-based, make and take the program. The kids will examine the effects of
the space environment on the germination of tomato seeds. We will plant two
sets of tomato seeds (one exposed to space or space-like conditions and the
other untreated, seeds not traveled). The group will measure, observe and
record the germination of seeds. The results will then be submitted to the
Canadian Space Agency/Tomatosphere at the end of the experiment. We will
provide the necessary materials for the project.

This program is an after-school creative writing workshop that is designed to teach aspiring writers (both novice and veterans) about the magic of words while examining the four styles of writing. Each week, we will examine a type of writing style including expository, descriptive, persuasive, and narrative.
