    Things might look a little different when you come back to visit us!

    Please note that we have removed all physical magazines and newspapers from our branches. You can access your favourite periodicals using our Flipster e-resource.

    Our entire CD collection is now located at Beaty branch. You can also listen to music online using our Hoopla e-resource.

    We have a new mobile app that allows you to look up items in our catalogue, check your account, and even check out your own books from your personal mobile device! 

    Sign up for our e-newsletter, and check out our event calendar for exciting new virtual programs hosted online using our social media platforms.

    We have increased our silent study space, and are also offering access to in-library use of our Chromebooks, and physically distanced computer workstations.

    Studying from home this semester? Our Exam Proctoring service is back! In addition to the exam proctoring service offered at MPL, we are also now offering reservable exam proctoring silent study room space for students writing remote exams facilitated online by external proctors.

    The Halton Region Water Testing Depot has resumed services at Main library.

    Code of Conduct

    We are so excited to see you again!

    To ensure the health and safety of everyone, please remember to follow MPL's Code of Conduct during your visit with us:

    We invite you to enjoy the library and respect its use by others. While you are here, please follow the rules of conduct we have established. With this in mind, please don't:

    - Be noisy and disruptive, including using audible devices without headphones or with headphones set at a volume that disturbs others
    - Use threatening, obscene, or abusive language
    - Misuse or deface library materials or library property
    - Use emergency exits, or obstruct entrance / exit way
    - Be intoxicated (with alcohol or drugs)
    - Leave children under eight (8) years of age unattended
    - Enter with bare feet, roller skates, roller blades or wheeled shoes, or on skateboards or scooters
    - Place feet on tables or chairs
    - Use tobacco, e-cigarettes, alcohol or illicit drugs
    - Consume meals or messy snacks
    - Drink beverages in the branch
    - Loiter
    - Solicit or sell
    - Sleep
    - Bring animals into the building (Service Animals exempted)
    - Post advertisements or leave flyers without library staff approval
    - Photograph, film, or video record, without prior approval of the CEO
    - Engage in any activity that violates federal, provincial, local or other applicable laws or Library policy
    - Theft of library materials is against the law and will be prosecuted.

    The library staff reserves the right to request patrons to open any bags, purses or packages for inspection if the anti-theft Library security system is triggered.

    If during your visit you do not follow these rules, you will be asked to leave the library premises, in accordance with the Trespass to Property Act (RSO 1980).
